  • AAC and Play has been popular for years, and now we're offering something new!

We’re updating the content and adding a two-part series:

Part 1: A traditional one-day workshop covering all things AAC and how to include AAC in different kinds of play. We'll also touch on related topics like literacy and executive functions with the latest research and ideas. Even if you've attended before, you’ll learn something new! (Tentative date: Friday, 9/26)

Part 2: NEW A one-day offsite session at the Montshire Museum. We'll work as a team to apply what you learned in Part 1, focusing on using AAC in real situations while considering communication needs and styles. This part is optional but requires completing Part 1 first. (Tentative date: Thursday, 10/30)

You can take Part 1 alone as a refresher or do both for a full experience.

  • Starting this fall, we will offer monthly 1-hour online group coaching with special topics from October to December. Each participant also will get one 1:1 coaching session focused on their students. This is perfect for professionals looking to improve their AAC skills. We will limit the group to 10 people.

  • Learn about and design engaging shared reading activities for AAC communicators with emergent literacy skills. Reading books together is great start! And, sometimes it’s hard to figure out where to go from there and how to connect shared reading to larger language and literacy goals. Come learn all about it!

  • More details & register here. This workshop is focused on learning about all the ways that AAC communicators (even emergent ones) can engage with text and begin to think of themselves as writers. This group will explore strategies and resources, and develop plans to try with students and share with each other.
