This workshop is appropriate for: Classroom teachers, special educators, paraeducators, BIs, BCBAs, SLPs, and anyone else who already has foundational AAC knowledge but is looking for support with a specific aspect of AAC.

The workshop is right for you if:

  • you or your team are well versed in the basics of AAC but need support in figuring out where to go next for your AAC learning or for your student’s AAC learning and communication (regardless of how emergent or established of a communicator your student is)

Description: Our 3 month group coaching is designed for folks who want to dig into one particular area. The monthly coaching topics are tailored to participant interests. Each meeting with include some new learning and a focus on participants creating an mini-action plan related to their individual goals. These trainings are also designed with sharing information, perspective and resources in mind. All participants will also have the opportunity for one individual coaching session with Danielle and Leah.

You can choose any topic you want to learn more about or receive support around. Some possibilities include AAC and autonomy, language learning, multilingual learners, literacy, play, executive functions, team dynamics, peer involvement, support staff and classroom teacher training, parent learning/support, advocacy conversations with school administration, etc.

Learning Outcomes: Participants will

  1. Address a specific AAC topic relevant for their individual learning and/or for their student’s AAC learning and communication.

  2. Develop a mini action plan to advance their knowledge and/or skill in a particular AAC related topic.

Important Information:

  • Do NOT bring your student’s AAC system or tools. If you have an extra system or tool, you are welcome to bring these. You will be asked about this information when registering. We will provide a variety of AAC systems and tools for those who do not have access to extras.

  • This workshop will include the use of speech generating devices as well as other AAC tools and materials. Your student does not need to be using a high tech AAC system (like an iPad or other speech generating device) for you to attend.

  • CEUs will NOT be provided. However, we will provide certificates of completion to all participants present for the entire day.

  • Cancellation & Refund Policy:

    • Cancellation more than 30 days prior to the event will receive an 80% refund.

    • Cancellation within 30 days of the event will not be refunded. However, the registration can be transferred to another individual from the same organization free of charge.
